Based on a character created by Ben Counter from the Warhammer 40000 book "Soul Drinker".
A comission for a friend who makes Warhammer minitures. He wants to make a miniture of this guy but needed something to base it on, so I drew this up for him using a couple of reference pictures and a written description. It took a long time, an' I'm pretty pleased with how this came out... - I've never done anything remotely like this before -_^
I learnt a lot from this.. an' thought I might put together a "working stages" piece together to stick in my scraps if anyone's intertested.. it would basically show the stages this picture underwent before it got to this level of finishedness.
I know there are errors (terrible hands mainly... other slight shading issues) but as I said, I've never done anything like this before, and I don't render stuff up by hand like this too often.. so please be gentle.
is it just me, or are there not a lot of female warhammer artists out there? o.O

nice one dude this looks really, totally, mega cool
woah...this is wholey unlike you...I like it! I used to be into the warhanner stuff. The only thing I would say, is that the three spikey leg things touching the ground closet to us (mega descriptivo!) feel like they should be angled back a tiny bit...but other than that, nice work!

it's not really wholey unlike me... it's a lot more similar to the stuff I used to do in actual fact.. stuff that I've had to drop cos of college and the whole "we hate fantasy!" thing :/ mmm.. but yeah, I never woulda drawn this if it wasn't for the comissioner askin' me.
- angled back a bit? I'm not sure I'm followin' ya -_^ Haha, funny spider gun man! How adorable, him and his little spiky legs, and his big cannons, and all that. With just a written description, I'm truly impressed! You don't put much organic stuff up here.
Holy shit Kat! That's AMAZING! I wish I could draw stuff as dark and edgy as that
 Mind you I probably could if I set my mind to it :3But anyway, that gun looks awesome. I've never heard of 'Warhammer' before, but this is incredible  organic? ^_^
not /just/ a written description - the comissioner gave me a reference picture for the top half, and showed me the a selection of spider leg kit pieces that he was concidering using for the model. :] |
