No prizes for guessing what I finally watched last night! Finally got around to seeing the first Hellboy movie, so that I can go and see the new one at the cinema. Glad that I did, I love the character, but am I the only person in the world who thinks he looks hella cooler with his horns intact? o.O
This was going to be a digital painting (titled red skin, to go with the green skin hulk one I submitted the other day: [link] ) but my Wacom Bamboo Fun is playing up and the cable keeps disconnecting so doing a digi-piece was out of the question. Maybe if I can get a new one I'll do it some other time.
Blue pencil, Black&Red biro, about an hours worth of scribble-time.
This is a great Hellboy pic - Angie and I were talking about this the other day, and she said something which I think sums this up best - it's clearly Hellboy but you've not tried to copy Mike Mignola's style - making the character your own rather than trying to copy the classic interpretation. Great stuff.
Thanks buddy! It might help that I've never read any of the original comics there ... so I'm goin' more off the film than the black and white drawin's really. - Still, it's like anything tho, half the fun of fan art is putting your own spin on something, right?
Hey dreamy! Long time no see! It's good to see that your artwork has only gotten better in the time I've been away This is awesome
